What is the law regarding tinting of motor vehicles in Malaysia

According to the JPJ, the regulations require a minimum of 70% Visible Light Transmission (VLT) for the front windscreen and a minimum of 50% for the sides and 30% rear windscreen and rear passenger windows.

What is Ultraviolet (UV) Rejection?

Ultraviolet (UV) ranging from 280nm to 400nm in Light Spectrum. Ultraviolet Rejection is the percentage of ultraviolet energy deflected away from the window film. Ultraviolet rays can cause upholstery and furnishings to fade. It can also cause skin damage and skin cancer.

What is High Energy Visible (HEV) Light?

Blue Light ranging from 380nm to 500nm in which is parts of visible light spectrum reaches deeper into eyes and its cumulative effect can cause damage to the retina. HEV Blue Light ranging from 380nm to 420nm is the most harmful Blue Light range to eyes and penetrate into skin dermis. Cause Macular degeneration, Cataract, Myopia, Glaucoma and wrinkles.

What is Visible Light Transmission (VLT)?

VLT ranging from 380nm to 780nm in Light Spectrum. VLT is the amount of visible light that passes directly through filmed glass. The darker the tint, the lower the visible light transmitted.

What is the different within 99% UV Rejection Film and IrisPro 100% UV Rejection Film?

Most of the Solar Window film which claims to have 99% UV Rejection is based on 380nm and below whereby IrisPro 100% UV Rejection Film is based on UV400nm which is full UV ray. IrisPro UV+420 optical solar film reject 99.9999% UV400 Radiation.

What is Infrared (IR) Rejection?

Infrared (IR) ranging from 780nm to 2500nm in Light Spectrum. Infrared Ray Rejection is the percentage of Infrared heat being block or reject by the window film.

What is Total Solar Energy Rejection (TSER)?

Total Solar Energy Rejected (TSER) is a metric that describes the total amount of solar energy (UV + VLT + IR) that is blocked, or rejected, from passing through the window. TSER should be calculated according to specific weather condition. For example, in USA where the UV Index is low and majority heat is from VLT and IR, TSER (UV 3% + VLT 44% + IR 53%) In Malaysia, the UV index is high ranging from level 9 to 13, TSER (UV 10% + VLT 40% + IRR 50%).

What is the different within IrisPro Performance Warranty vs others window film warranty?

Others window normally use silver and others metal for sputtering process for heat rejection. Silver and some of the metal corrode even in normal weather condition.

What is window film made of?

Different polyesters are transformed during the manufacturing process to produce a thin, transparent film that adheres to glass when a pressure sensitive adhesive is activated by a mild solution of dishwashing detergent and water.

Do you install window film on the inside or outside of a building?

Window film is typically installed on the interior side of a window. As it is a finished product, is best installed after all other nearby construction is complete. If access to the interior side of the window is difficult to obtain, an exterior application can be performed with properly sealed. The warranty will be shorter for exterior application.

What is the procedure to install window film?

The individual installation steps, assuming a typical interior application, would be as follows: Prepare window area by placing drop cloths on floor and / or moving nearby furniture Thoroughly clean interior side of glass pane and gaskets with a mild solution of dishwashing detergent and water to remove dirt and other residue Wet glass with solution Place film against glass Squeegee to remove excess solution between glass and film Trim film to gasket “5-way” film edges to ensure film lies flat Wipe film to ensure clean finished product Remove drop cloths and replace furniture to original positions

Can you apply window film to Plexiglas®?

No. The film’s specially designed adhesive will not adhere to Plexiglas®.

Can you apply window film to tinted / Low-E glass?

Absolutely! You will notice enhanced energy performance from your tinted / Low-E glass windows after installation.

What is the life expectancy of window film?

The life expectancy of window film is dependent upon multiple variables (climate, exposure to sun, etc…). The average life expectancy is five to ten years. Please visit our warranty section for more information.

Will my energy costs decrease?

Absolutely! The amount of money saved depends upon the type of film chosen and certain property-specific variables (location, climate, existing energy costs, HVAC system, etc…). Average within 10% to 30% saving.

Will my furniture fade be reduced?

Absolutely! Furniture / fabric fade is caused by multiple factors. 10% of fading is caused by miscellaneous factors (i.e. fabric color, material, etc). 25% is caused by heat. 25% is caused by visible light. And the remaining 40% is caused by UV rays. IrisPro window films can mitigate 90% of the factors that cause furniture / fabric fade.

How do I clean the filmed surface after installation?

Window films may be washed with common washing solutions (including ammonia-based products) thirty days after installation. Abrasive cleaning agents and bristle brushes which would scratch the film cannot be used. Synthetic sponges, squeegees, or soft cloths are recommended in addition to the cleaning solution. To maintain your warranty, do not use tape or other adhesive products on the film.

Does IrisPro Window film has chemical safety test?

Yes! IrisPro window film is tested by SGS for REACH compliance. The low quality window Film and its glue might contain chemical that emit Volatile organic compound (VOC) especially under hot sun that harmful to human health and may lead to cancer.

Will window film ruin my view?

No, IrisPro window film will actually reduce so much glare and heat that it will add clarity. The pleasure of the beautiful view will return.

Is the film difficult to maintain after installation?

High quality IrisPro window film and scratch-resistant coatings make cleaning as easy as before.

Will the film give a mirrored exterior appearance?
